AI Label Remover
AI images carry invisible labels — prompts, generation settings, model names, C2PA credentials — and platforms such as Instagram and Facebook may show “Made with AI” or AI Info when you upload them. Drop files in and the AI labels are stripped automatically; each image shows its status and exactly what was removed, ready to download. Tick one option to clear other metadata too. Pixels and compression stay untouched.

Or click to browse and pick multiple files. PNG, JPEG (JPG) and WebP up to 50 MB each. Files are cleaned on import, and everything runs in your browser — works offline too.
Reading metadata…
Still seeing an AI label after cleanup?
Short answer: it does not mean the cleanup failed. This tool only handles metadata inside the file, and platforms do not rely on metadata alone.
- AI-related metadata — C2PA, generator fields in XMP, PNG text chunks — is the main trigger, and it is no longer in the file after cleanup.
- Invisible watermarks such as Google SynthID live in the pixels. Only lossy redrawing or recompression can change them; this tool never touches pixels.
- Some platforms also use visual classifiers, or factor in account history and what you declare when posting.
- To confirm the cleanup worked, expand each image’s details — the cleaned file is re-scanned before download.
FEATURES
It reads the file, not just the file name
Every major AI generator leaves a different trace — but they all leave a trace.
Built to spot AI traces
AUTOMATIC1111 parameters, ComfyUI workflows, C2PA content credentials and generator names in XMP — matched by structure and keywords, not by file extension.
Lossless removal
Only metadata bytes are deleted. No re-encoding, no recompression — the cleaned image is pixel-identical to the original.
Read before you delete
Every block shows its location, size and raw content, so you know exactly what you are removing.
AI labels off by default
AI labels are removed automatically on import. Tick “Also remove other metadata” to re-run the whole batch more thoroughly; the ICC profile is always kept.
Three mainstream formats
PNG, JPEG (JPG) and WebP cover most AI-generated files and social-platform exports.
Fully local
Files are read and rewritten in your browser with no upload request — safe for confidential screenshots and unreleased work.
Where the tags usually hide
The same image can carry metadata in PNG text chunks, JPEG APP segments or standalone WebP chunks. Here is the usual mapping.
| Tag / location | Common sources | AI relevance |
|---|---|---|
| AUTOMATIC1111 parameters | Stable Diffusion WebUI | AI-related |
| ComfyUI workflow / prompt | ComfyUI | AI-related |
| XMP | Adobe Firefly · DALL·E · Midjourney | May be related |
| C2PA / JUMBF | OpenAI · Microsoft · Adobe | AI-related |
| EXIF | Camera · generation software | May be related |
| tEXt / iTXt | PNG text chunks | May be related |
| ICC | Color profile | No |
Three steps to a clean file
No installation, no need to understand the EXIF format.
Drop in an image
Drag a PNG, JPEG or WebP into the workspace; the tool reads its metadata blocks immediately.
Automatic cleanup
AI labels are removed right away and each image shows its status. Expand the details whenever you want to read the raw blocks.
Download the cleaned file
One click builds a new file, then the tool re-scans it to confirm no AI tags are left.
Why “Made with AI” or AI Info appears after upload
Platforms read the metadata inside the file — they do not judge the pixels by eye.
They scan for tags
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and others read C2PA credentials plus XMP and EXIF fields on upload. A matching AI record is enough to show AI Info or “Made with AI”.
It does not mean the whole image is AI-generated
A Generative Fill patch of sky, AI noise reduction or an AI crop can leave the same marker even when most of the photo is real.
There is usually no in-app switch
As long as the tag stays in the file, the settings rarely offer a reliable way to hide it. Cleaning metadata before uploading is the controllable path.
Metadata is one of the main triggers, but not the only one. Pixel-level watermarks and platform-side visual detection are outside what this tool can change.
Which tools leave a recognizable tag
These generators and AI editing features write a name, settings or credential into the file. Detection matches structures and keywords; common sources include:
Stable Diffusion ecosystem
Commercial models & platforms
Chinese AI tools
This is a common-source list, not a complete one. Canva AI and Photoshop generative features can also write names or credentials, and custom fields may not be recognized.
When you need it
AI tags do not make an image worse, but they cause trouble in these situations.
Submissions and stock review
Many calls for entries require disclosure of AI involvement. Know exactly what the file declares before reviewers ask.
Privacy before publishing
Prompts, model paths and workflows can expose your creative process and local folder structure. Clean them before posting publicly.
Client deliveries
Commercial work usually should not carry generator names or software versions beyond what the brief requires.
Investigate provenance
Received an image of unknown origin? Check for C2PA credentials or generation settings before deciding what to do with it.
Before you start
- Removing metadata does not change copyright ownership. Only edit files you have the right to modify, and follow platform rules and local law on AI content disclosure.
- C2PA content credentials record provenance and edit history. Deleting them invalidates the signature — keep this block if the other party needs the credentials.
- JPEG EXIF may contain capture orientation. After removal, some older viewers may stop auto-rotating; modern browsers and operating systems usually render the pixel orientation correctly.
- Detection relies on known structures and keywords. It covers mainstream generators, but brand-new tools or custom fields can slip through — no AI badge does not guarantee a clean file.
- Social platforms, cloud drives and image hosts may rewrite or preserve metadata on upload. Judge the result by the file that actually lands on the other side.
AI image metadata FAQ
Does removing metadata reduce image quality?
No. The tool deletes metadata bytes without re-encoding the image, so resolution, compression settings and color data stay exactly the same. The cleaned image is pixel-identical to the original.
Which AI metadata can it detect?
Common examples: AUTOMATIC1111 / Stable Diffusion WebUI parameters, ComfyUI workflow and prompt JSON, generator names in XMP (Adobe Firefly, DALL·E, Midjourney and others), the IPTC trainedAlgorithmicMedia source type, C2PA content credentials, and generation software recorded in EXIF.
Detection is based on structures and keywords, so new tools or custom fields may not be recognized.
What are C2PA content credentials?
C2PA is a signed provenance standard that records who created an image, which tool was used and what edits were made. Images exported by OpenAI, Microsoft, Adobe and others often include it. It can prove AI generation, but it can also be a camera or editing certificate. Removing it invalidates the signature permanently.
Why did the image rotate after cleanup?
Phones and cameras store capture orientation in the EXIF Orientation tag, and viewers rotate the image accordingly. If the whole EXIF block is removed, a few older viewers no longer rotate it and show the stored orientation, which looks like a 90° turn. Modern browsers, system galleries and mainstream editors are generally unaffected.
Are my images uploaded or stored?
No. Reading, detection and rewriting all happen inside your browser. There is no upload request, and the tool works offline. Files and results disappear when you refresh the page.
Why does some metadata remain after cleanup?
Only AI-related labels are removed by default; regular EXIF, XMP and comments stay. Tick “Also remove other metadata” at the top to strip those too. The ICC color profile is always kept — it determines how colors are displayed, deleting it can shift the image’s appearance, and it is not a prompt or generation setting.
Why does the platform still show an AI label after cleanup?
Platforms do not rely on metadata alone: they also analyse pixel patterns, read invisible watermarks such as SynthID, and sometimes factor in account history or what you declare when posting.
This tool only handles metadata inside the file. It removes the most common trigger but cannot guarantee the platform will stay label-free; if a label persists, that platform is likely also using pixel-level detection.
Can it remove invisible watermarks?
No. The tool deletes metadata bytes and never edits pixels, so watermarks written into the image such as Google SynthID remain untouched. Changing those pixels requires redrawing or recompression, which is lossy.
How is this different from taking a screenshot or re-saving?
Screenshots and re-exports re-encode the image. Pixels change slightly and most metadata disappears, at the cost of quality and a changed image fingerprint.
This tool deletes only metadata bytes, so the picture stays pixel-identical. Because it does not touch pixels, it also does not change the image fingerprint.
Does it support batch processing?
Yes. Select multiple files or keep dropping them in; the list shows each status and what was removed. Download one file or pack them all into a ZIP. There is no count limit — 50 MB per file — and everything runs in the browser.
Is removing AI labels legal?
For files you own or are authorized to edit, it is generally fine in most regions.
Using it to deceive, make false claims or bypass platform rules may be illegal or violate terms of service. Some jurisdictions, such as the EU AI Act, require AI-generated content to be disclosed, so check your obligations first.
